What the new website opens up on Google
Don, we already look after your search, so this page does not go back over it. It is only about what the new website lets us do that we could not do before, and the biggest of those is simple to say.
Every person, with an address of their own
Today there is one shared address, without any true link to the person. On the new website every person has their own permanent address with Burstows.

Every person has their own permanent address with Burstows.
So when somebody types a person's name into Google, there is a Burstows page with that name on it for Google to show, and it is there for good. Google has not read them yet, because the new website is not live yet, and I would rather say that plainly than promise you a number.
Currently in Our Care, written as a Burstows page
In the three months to 01/09/2026 Google sent 119,411 clicks to burstows.com.au, and 83,050 of them went to Currently in Our Care. On the new website it is a Burstows page with every name on it, and the day, the time and the venue of each service, so Google can read who is in your care from the page itself. Each name links to the person's own page, and the page keeps the address it has today. It runs from the live records once administration is switched on at go live.
People who search without typing Burstows
Take Burstows out of the search box and what people type is funeral notices, in Toowoomba and across the Downs. In those same three months Google showed a Burstows page 6,008 times for "current funeral notices toowoomba", 5,853 times for "darling downs current funeral notices" and 5,166 times for "toowoomba funeral notices". What they want is who is in your care and when the service is, and on the new website that is written on Burstows' own pages. Those figures tell you the size of the searches and nothing more.
Three smaller things that come with it
- Toowoomba, Dalby, Warwick and Gatton each have a page of their own, with the address, the phone number, a map and photographs of that home. Warwick's was clicked 641 times and Dalby's 625 times in three months from Google alone. The next piece of our search work is to point each home's listing on Google Maps at that home's own page.
- When a family shares their person's page on Facebook it arrives as a card with their photo, their name, their dates and the Burstows logo. That is not Google, but it is how the Burstows name travels.
- Google takes notice of how long a page takes to open on a phone. The first words are on screen in 1.7 seconds on the new homepage, where they take 4.3 today.
Your SEO carries on, and we can take it further
Nothing changes with the fees for your SEO. The 800 AUD a month you already pay carries on exactly as it is. What changes is how far we can take it, because the site is now one we can change the same day.
We look after the running of the site the way we already do for McGrath Funerals, and the same team supports both sites together, so an idea that works on one is brought to the other.
