Don, say the word.
Yes, take the new website live. That is the whole decision. The website is built, the families' pages have been carried across, and you see it again, finished, before anything changes for families.
20,750 AUD
The same price Michelle saw in September, unchanged for this offer.
The work around Tributes and Currently in Our Care would normally be additional, but I'm happy to include it in this build. Your SEO carries on at the 800 AUD a month you already pay, unchanged.
Prices are in AUD and exclude GST. As the work is billed from New Zealand, no GST is added.
What happens after your yes
Five steps, in this order, a little over three weeks from the day the build starts. We start when you are ready, so the pace is yours.
The quote comes to you
Your word to me is the yes. The formal quote then comes to you to accept online, and if you would rather, I will talk you through that part on the phone.
We get ready together
Michelle tells us where the five forms should deliver, which are contact, employment, feedback, gifting back and the guide downloads. The media team gives us the names of the people who will use administration, and you and I agree when the build starts.
The build
Fourteen days. The work under Finished before launch day, further down this page, is done in this fortnight. The exceptions are the two things we agree with Michelle, which are settled before launch day, and pointing burstows.com.au and training the media team, which are the last step.
You and Michelle have a good look
There are two review rounds of four days each. You both look over the website and administration, tell us what you would like changed, and we change it. Nothing goes live until you have signed off the second round.
Going live
We do it in the evening our time, here in New Zealand, and never on a Friday. burstows.com.au is pointed at the new website, and the media team is trained in administration on the day.
What is built today, and what we finish before launch day
I would rather you saw both lists side by side than found the second one out later. The first is what exists today and you can look at. The second is the work your yes sets going, and all of it is done before the website goes live.
Built today
- The whole new website, which you can walk through today.
- All 7,980 people on your tribute list, carried across on 01/10/2026 onto Burstows' own pages, 1,210 of them in full, along with the 1,992 messages of condolence that came with them.
- Each person's own page, the search by name, the service sheet that opens as a booklet you can turn, and sharing to Facebook with the person's own card.
- Currently in Our Care as a Burstows page in the same design, showing demonstration content for now.
- The place where job applications will be kept. It is made and waiting, and it holds none yet.
Finished before launch day
- Administration is switched on and the media team can sign in. Today nobody at Burstows can.
- The website refreshes itself within a few minutes whenever something changes in administration. Today nothing does that.
- Families can leave a message on a person's page again, and the team can see every message in administration and hide or close the messages on a page.
- Currently in Our Care runs from the live records and today's date, in place of the demonstration content frozen on 01/10/2026.
- New people flow in from the day of launch. Today the records stop at 01/10/2026.
- The messages, notices and service sheets for the 6,770 people who died before 01/10/2025 are settled one of the two ways set out on the Tributes page, so no family opens a page and finds less than they left.
- How a new person reaches administration is agreed with Michelle's team: who enters them, whether that replaces what is done today, and what happens out of hours.
- The banners families chose for their pages are copied onto Burstows' own storage, so a shared link keeps its picture.
- The livestream player stays with its current provider, and we check it still plays as it should before the change.
- The ordinary pages move into the same administration, so the media team edits everything from one place. That is 13 services, 16 facilities, 26 news posts, 15 arranging guides, 5 support articles, 9 urns and 1 position.
- The five forms are connected to wherever Michelle chooses.
- The media team is trained in administration on launch day.
- burstows.com.au is pointed at the new website, with the old addresses, the older spelling of the Currently in Our Care address included, checked so they still land in the right place.
Don, if it is a yes, a line to ben@yoonet.io will do it, or ring me on +64 21 246 9046, or simply tell Michelle and she will let me know. There's no rush on it at all, and I would rather you took your time over it than felt hurried.
Thank you for your consideration, Don. I hope you can see the detail and passion that's gone into this proposal and the new site. I've worked very hard to make it simple for you guys, as I understand the implications and gravity of it all.
I feel like the website is a modern refresh of what is a solid foundation, and a testament to your care and consideration with the brand over all the years we've worked together.
Hoping for positive news, Don, and celebrating over a Thai meal, either here or there, with you soon. I appreciate everything.
Warmest regards,

Ben
